![]() ![]() Pinterest allows you to create dozens of mood boards, so it’s perfect if you’re doing several projects. You can still share it with collaborators if you give them the link but it won’t show up on other people’s feed. But if you want to hide it from strangers, you can turn on the ‘Keep this board secret’ toggle. Pinterest automatically publishes mood boards publicly. That way, you’ll make it easier for yourself to find. Now click ‘Create Board’ and name it according to your project.įor instance, if you’re collecting food photography images, you can name the board “Food Inspo” or something similar. When you upload a pin, click the dropdown menu beside the ‘Publish’ button. That’s why you must know how to move pictures around within Pinterest. The primary purpose of creating mood boards is to help you curate all the images you collected. How Should You Organize Your Mood Boards? ![]() Once you finish adding descriptions, hit ‘Save from site’, and that’s it! It could be anything from your personal website or the source of the image if you don’t own it. You also have the option to add a destination link. You can then either drag and drop or click on the box that appears to upload a file.Īfter you upload the file, you can add a title and create a caption. Go to your ‘Home Feed’ and click on the ‘Create Pin’ button. You can also download pictures directly from your computer to Pinterest. Now all you have to do is click that button to save those photos to your mood board. Once you download the plugin, a small button should show up on the upper left corner of all the images that appear on your browser. The first step is to get the Google Chrome Plugin called Pinterest Save Button. But for the sake of simplicity, we will be using Pinterest as it’s the most common app people use. Mood board apps have different ways of letting you save photos. In many ways, a similar process happens when you create a mood board online. If you’re making physical mood boards, all it takes is cutting out photos from books and magazines and pasting it onto the boards. How Do You Make a Mood Board for a Photoshoot? But the most popular and familiar to most people is, of course, Pinterest! There are plenty of apps that can help you create mood boards. But it should still align with your understanding of how the pictures should look in the end, based on the information provided. You also may want to make more than one mood board for the client to select.Įach board should reflect a different brand concept. Too many images can dilute the essence of the feeling and atmosphere you are trying to get across. When it comes to mood boards, less tends to be more. ![]() Try to stick to this range for the number of photos in your mood board. When agencies send photographers mood boards, they usually contain 5-15 images. These include lighting style, color, atmosphere, or texture. Start by collecting many pictures that have the elements you want. These photos are supposed to represent the qualities of the brand or the desired aesthetic. They will often contain elements that will not appear in the final images. Mood boards are not about finding visuals to copy but to inspire. You can do also do boards for anything from food to fashion photography. So creating a color mood board may be your best course of action.īut of course, color mood boards are just one option. Think mauve and lavender, or how they differ from purple. Or they do not know the words to describe certain tones within a color range. Your idea of “dark and moody” food photography might not be someone else’s idea of dark and moody. Words like “fun”, “bold”, “clean” are too abstract and can mean different things to you than they do to your client.Īnother important point is that people see color differently. Language is not the best way to express what the eyes should see. When it comes to working with clients, this is especially true. There is an old saying: “ a picture is worth a thousand words“. ![]() What Are the Benefits of Using a Mood Board? It’s up to you to determine how a mood board can help you get your creative juices flowing. But you may also want to make mood boards for your personal projects or shoots. You may send them to people involved in a shoot or project for feedback or collaboration.Ī mood board is necessary when working with clients. But these days mood boards are usually virtual. Sometimes you may want to create a physical board from magazines and other print media. People use it extensively in design and photography to help define the visual direction of a project. One way to help everyone understands your visual aesthetic is to create mood boards.Ī mood board is a collection of images gathered together into collage form. A cmake variable only exists while cmake runs, whereas an environment variable persists for the lifetime of a shell session. The effects for building code are the same, but cmake variables and environment variables are very different things. CMake code usually first looks for the cmake variable, as defined with -D on the command line, and if no such value was defined, it looks for the environment variable. You can, for example, issue 'echo $PICO_SDK_PATH' on the next line to see its value. 'export PICO_SDK_PATH=/path/to/pico-sdk' defines an environment variable in a Unix shell. (And guessing furthermore that 'D' is for 'define'.) So my guess is that this feature of cmake is patterned after C compilers. ![]() It's the same syntax used on C compiler command lines to define preprocessor variables, as in 'cc -DFOO=bar', for example (it's the same as having '#define FOO bar' in your C source code). My question, I guess, boils down to what's the difference between -DPICO_SDK_PATH= and PICO_SDK_PATH=. Quoting is converting Scala code into an Expr, and is written down using '.asTerm asExprOf, if you have access to the precise representation of the type T. However, to splice a term into a code block, you'll need to first convert it to an expression, using. Here you have access to the whole AST, which you can inspect, or generate by hand. Terms, on the other hand, are the lower-level representation. You can't do much with it, other than splicing it and thus combining it with other code. In general, Expr represents an opaque, typed expression. When writing macros, you'll find yourself working a lot with values of type Expr and Tree/ Term. ![]() The linked documentation is a great starting point, still, there's a number of things that come up when you start working with the macros API. ![]() If none of the above meets your needs, there’s no escape: you'll have to write a macro. using the recently released Shapeless 3, which is driven by givens and implicit resolution.using Magnolia, where you implement a simple interface for handling products & coproducts, and this is then used by the Magnolia macro.using inlines & mirrors, see the docs, and this blog which provides a great explanation of the involved concepts. If the derivation that you'd like to perform has a regular structure, you might be able to use one of the available high-level methods for typeclass derivation in Scala: If you're convinced that inline won't work for your use case, there's still a chance you might escape the need of writing a macro! In a lot of cases, macros are used to perform derivation: generating code based on the structure of your data. Here, we will focus on slightly more advanced topics. As an introduction to writing macros, check out my other article, " Starting with Scala 3 macros: a short tutorial". Hence, you might turn to macros: they give you way more power and way more flexibility, at the cost of being more complex to write. ![]() Only partial information on data structures is available through Mirrors - for example annotations are not available, and if your data is not a case class, a mirror usually won't be available. It's not possible to inspect code passed as a parameter to an inline method or generate arbitrary code as a result. They are declarative in their nature, hence the possibilities are limited to what is directly supported by the compiler. Inlines can get you so far, but have their limits. The official documentation has more details on how inlines work and what their possibilities are. Through Mirrors, you can inspect data structures, such as case classes and enums. This includes expanding inline def method definitions, simplifying inline if and inline match expressions, or performing inline summon (looking up given/ implicit values). The inline modifier instructs the compiler to evaluate the code at compile-time. Scala 3 offers two basic metaprogramming modes: inlines or macros. The first question to consider is: Do I have to write a macro in the first place? Below, you can find some of the things that we’ve learned along the way. We’ve ported a number of macros from Scala 2 to Scala 3: in quicklens, with Kacper Korban in tapir, with Mateusz Borek and more work is waiting with macwire. As with every API, it takes getting used to Scala’s compile-time reflection capabilities are no exception. Research staff would identify patients in the ED with cardiac arrest, and physicians would then review the medical records and enter the patient into a ‘registry’ dataset, using an Utstein-style reporting template. Over the past 10 years, the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) has captured and stored ECG waveforms from all adult (over 20 years old) Emergency Department (ED) patients in cardiac arrest: those brought in by ambulance in cardiac arrest, and those experiencing cardiac arrest in the ED or the waiting room. This rich signal might also contain other clues: about why the heart stopped, what physicians can do in the ER to give the patient the best possible chance of surviving, and the likelihood that a patient who survives will have a normal life, without profound physical or neurological impairments. Physicians use this to determine which immediate actions are needed: most importantly, does the patient need to be shocked (cardioverted), or need some critical medication to restart the heart. One of the only pieces of data available to the emergency physician in this situation is the electrocardiogram (ECG), which measures the electrical activity of the heart. What happened to cause the arrest? What immediate actions need to be taken? And what will happen to the patient?
